Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a minor surgical method of planing (sanding) the skin. It smooths sharp-edged fine wrinkles and scars. It also removes the primary characteristics of sun damage such as sun-induced pigmentation changes and superficial wrinkling. Dermabrasion may also be used to improve vertical wrinkles from the lip.
The area to be treated is anesthetized with an injection of local anesthetic. The skin is then sanded with a wire brush.
After the procedure, a telfa dressing with antibiotic ointment will be applied to the treated area. The skin may have a shiny, jelly-like appearance immediately after the bandages are removed. This disappears in a few hours to a few days. Mild swelling of the treated area is possible and may last for several days. Pigmentation (skin color) is altered in all patients for several weeks. Initial re-pigmentation usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Final results and skin color should be evaluated 3 to 6 months after surgery.
If you have fine wrinkles, scarring or pigmentation, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for Dermabrasion or one of the other treatments we offer.
Earlobe revision
Earlobe Revision/Repair is an in-office surgical procedure used to repair stretched, torn, or split earlobes commonly caused by an accidental earring pull or wearing heavy earrings for a prolonged period of time.
The earlobe is numbed using a local anesthetic, any existing scar-tissue is removed, and the surgical site is then closed using small stitches. The sutures are removed 7-10 days after the surgery and earlobe can be re-pierced in approximately 6 weeks.
If you have a stretched or torn ear piercing, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for an earlobe Revision/Repair.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is approved by the FDA for use in orthopedics and is being used “off-label” to treat patients with male and female pattern hair loss as well as alopecia areata
Platelets are one of the components of blood and promote cell growth and regeneration. The theory is that platelets, injected deep into the scalp to reach the hair follicle, may stimulate the cells responsible for hair growth.
On the day of the procedure, a small amount of blood will be obtained, similar to a routine blood test. The blood is placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from other blood cells. The PRP is prepared while you wait. and then injected into the areas of hair loss.
After the treatment, ice packs are applied. You may experience slight redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection sites. This usually subsides within 1 to 2 days.
If you are experiencing hair loss, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate PRP injections.
QWO® (Cellulite Injectable)
QWO® (Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum-AAES) is an FDA approved injectable used to treat moderate to severe cellulite.
There are three things that, together, cause cellulite’s signature dimpling. 1) Over time the skin thins, 2) fat cells enlarge and push against the skin and 3) the fibrous bands under the skin thicken and cause tension. QWO contains enzymes called collagenases that target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. It is thought that QWO works by releasing these fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.
Injection site bruising and discomfort occurs frequently after QWO injections. The bruising can last 7-14 days.
If you have cellulite, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with QWO.
VI Peel®
VI PEEL® is a moderate-depth chemical peel used for improving the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reducing age spots, improving hyperpigmentation (including melasma), softening lines and wrinkles; clearing acne skin conditions; reducing acne scars; and stimulating the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.
The peel solution is applied to clean, dry skin. Burning, stinging or a feeling of heat can be expected during and after treatment. You can expect to start peeling on or around day three and continue to peel for about three to four days afterward.
If you have hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne or fine lines, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for VI Peel.

Lasers & Latest Technology
Candela™ GentleLase Pro (hair removal)
The GentleLase Pro is a hair removal laser by Candela, approved for the FDA for permanent hair reduction. This laser non-invasively removes hair from all parts of the body. It is suitable not just for the face, legs, arms and back, but even sensitive areas such as underarms, nipples, and bikini line. Laser hair removal treatment is ideal for patients suffering from ingrown hairs or razor burn.
The light beam emitted from the laser selectively targets only the pigment in cells underneath the skin’s surface, in the hair follicle and the hair shaft itself. When pigment in the hair follicle and shaft absorb the light, this energy is converted to a millisecond pulse of heat. This causes thermal damage to cells in the hair follicle, leading to delayed regrowth, as well as permanent destruction of the hair follicle. Anesthetic cream can be applied to minimize discomfort.
The GentleLase Pro is optimized for removing hair in lighter skin types, while our CoolGlide laser is suitable for treating unwanted hair in both light and dark skin. If you have unwanted hair, or inflammatory reactions to shaving, ask your practitioner which hair removal treatment is right for you.
If you have areas of stubborn fat, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for Coolsculpting treatment.
Candela™ Vbeam Perfecta (blood vessel treatment)
The VBeam Perfecta pulsed dye laser by Candela™ treats broken capillaries, rosacea, port wine stains, and strawberry hemangiomas. The Vbeam can also be used to treat discoloration from bruising, and skin redness associated with acne, sun damage, stretch marks, and certain types of scars.
The laser works by delivering a burst of pure light which is selectively absorbed by the capillaries or pigmented areas. The light is transferred into a quick pulse of heat, damaging only those areas targeted. The targeted blood vessels or blood cells coagulate and are absorbed by the body using its natural repair process. Treatment with the VBeam laser is quick, safe, effective and comfortable.
There is little to no downtime. During treatment, the laser’s Dynamic Cooling Device flash cools the skin, helping to reduce discomfort. If you have unwanted skin redness, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for VBeam laser treatment.
CoolSculpting® (fat reduction)
CoolSculpting® by Allergan Aesthetics is an FDA approved, non-invasive, non-surgical method of fat reduction that targets the fat in body areas that are challenging to remove through diet and exercise.
Coolsculpting works by delivering controlled cooling (called cryptolysis) to target and crystallize fat cells. Fat cells are more affected by cold temperatures than other cells. This means that the cold does not damage other cells, such as the skin or underlying tissue. Following treatment, the body will naturally eliminate the fat cells killed by freezing.
The procedure takes approximately 60 minutes depending on the target area(s). There is little to no downtime after a Coolsculpting treatment. Some people report soreness at the treatment site similar to that they might have after an intense workout or minor muscle injury. Others report stinging, firmness, mild discoloration, swelling, and itchiness.
If you have areas of stubborn fat, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for Coolsculpting treatment.
Cutera® xeo® CoolGlide Nd:YAG (hair removal in dark skin types and vein removal)
The Cutera® Coolglide® Nd:YAG laser is used for the treatment of vascular lesions [blood vessels] on the face and lower extremities. It is also an effective hair removal treatment for all skin colors.
HAIR REMOVAL: The laser works by emitting a pulse of light that is absorbed by pigment [color] in the hair follicle. All hair contains pigment unless it is pure white. Upon contact with the pigment in hair follicles the laser light is converted to heat which selectively and precisely damages hair follicles that are in the growing phase. It can be used for all skin colors.
VASCULAR LESIONS: The laser works by sending a pulse of light that is absorbed by the red hemoglobin pigment in the red blood cells flowing through the treated vein causing the blood within that vein to heat, coagulate, and destroy the vessel. This will not impair blood supply to the skin area since there are multiple alternative vessels for the blood to flow through that are deep below your skin’s surface.
There is minimal downtime after a Coolglide treatment. The most common side effects are redness and swelling of the treated area for a few days. Bruising is very uncommon and, if it occurs, will usually resolve in about one week.
If you have unsightly blue facial veins or unwanted facial or body hair, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with the Coolglide laser.
DEKA SmartXide DOT (CO2 laser resurfacing)
The Deka Dot is an ablative CO2 laser procedure that can smooth and repair lines, wrinkles, scars, discoloration and other cosmetic defects without removing the epidermal (outer) layers of the skin.
The Deka Dot uses a “dot” pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving the areas around each “dot” intact. It is another type of “fractional laser” because it only affects a fraction (each dot) of skin at a time.
After treatment, the skin heals rapidly from the edges of these tiny “dots”. The healthy cells in the untreated spots promote rapid healing of the entire treatment area, resulting in faster recover time and minimal side effects. Your skin may look red and swollen and feel as if sunburned for a few days. Some areas may become crusty and darker. Several days after treatment, you may experience some peeling as old skin is sloughed off and new, healthier skin emerges. Skin usually completely heals in 7 to 10 days.
If you have fine lines or pigmentation and would like smoother looking skin, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with the Deka Dot laser.
Fraxel® DUAL 1550/1927
The Fraxel® Dual 1550/1927 Laser by SoltaMedical® is used to resurface aging and sun damaged skin giving you smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin with improved tone and texture.
The Fraxel Dual laser works by inducing the body’s natural healing response and accelerates the formation of healthy new skin by heating tiny areas in the dermis while leaving the surrounding tissue untouched. The Fraxel Dual laser has an additional wavelength (1927nm) that targets pigmented lesions in the more superficial layers of the skin.
One hour prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied. The laser procedure itself takes approximately 30 minutes. For optimal results, multiple treatment sessions will be needed over a period of several months.
After treatment, the treated area may feel like it has been sunburned, which lasts a few hours. The laser will cause reddening of the area that will last for approximately 1 week. You may also experience mild to moderate swelling of the treated area.
Ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with the Fraxel Dual laser.
Quanta Q-Plus Nd:YAG and Ruby (brown spot and tattoo removal)
The Quanta Q-Plus C laser is used to remove or lighten of professional, amateur and medical tattoos in adults. It is also very successful in removing or lightening benign, pigmented skin lesions by selective thermal absorption of light energy.
The laser works by producing an intense, targeted burst of light that destroys pigmentation in the lesion or tattoo with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. Multiple treatments may be required, and in some cases, 100% clearing of the lesion or tattoo may not be possible.
Immediately after laser treatment, the area turns white and swells slightly. The whiteness usually fades in approximately 10-20 minutes. Over the next few days, blisters may form at the treatment site, and then a scab or a thin crust may follow. The skin usually heals in about 7 to 10 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for residual redness to fade.
If you have brown spots or an unwanted tattoo, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with the Quanta Q-Plus laser.
SkinPen® Precision (microneedling device)
SkinPen® Precision is an FDA-cleared microneedling device that uses the skin’s healing process to visibly reduce facial acne scars and neck wrinkles.
SkinPen microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface and trigger an immune response that increases blood flow and activates the creation of new tissue. New dermal tissues and blood vessels form, rich in collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins improve skin quality, visibly reducing facial acne scars and neck wrinkles, leaving skin more smooth, radiant, and younger-looking.
After your treatment, you may notice some redness or inflammation which should subside within 72 hours.
If you have facial acne scars or neck wrinkles, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with the SkinPen.
Thermage® (skin tightening)
Thermage® FLX from SoltaMedical® is a non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) therapy that can help smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger-looking appearance.
Thermage is an FDA-cleared treatment for improving the appearance of facial wrinkles, including those of the upper and lower eyelids. In addition, it can temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite. Thermage has also been used “off-label” for tightening loose skin on the face and body.
Thermage delivers deep, intense, uniform heat to the tissue beneath the skin which, thereby, produces contraction and tightening of loose skin without visible injury to the top layer of the skin.
In most cases, there is no significant downtime. Some patients experience minimal redness which usually disappears within 1 to 2 hours after treatment. Swelling, bruising and pain may occur, but are uncommon.
If you have facial lines or sagging skin on your face or body, ask your practitioner if you would be a good candidate for treatment with Thermage.
